9/2023: David Valner, Object, LSD 2012

We have completed the twelfth year of the glass symposium, so it is appropriate to use the exhibit of the month to remember the very first symposium, which took place in September 2012. The symposium was attended by artists Kateřina Handlová, Jakub Petr, David Valner, Václav Řezáč, Ondřej Strnadel, Zuzana Kynčlová, Gizela Šabóková and Ivana Šrámková. All of them, except for the guest of honor Ondřej Strnadel, are graduates of the local glass school. The prestige and quality of the Secondary Glass School of Arts and Crafts is also proven by the work successes of these graduates.

The theme of the first glass symposium was "The Set Table". Symposium participants approached this topic in different ways. The exhibit of the month, designed by David Valner, shows how attractively the subject can be grasped. David Valner's artistic vision was created by Jaroslav Bukovský and Lukáš Šulc. The museum's collection was enriched by four objects by David Valner, which were created during the glass symposium LSD 2012.

David Valner (*1990) graduated from the Secondary Glass School of Arts and Crafts in Železný Brod. According to him, it was precisely this school that confirmed that he wanted to focus on glass in his professional life. After completing his high school studies, he joined the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of the Tomáš Bata University in Zlín to the Glass Design Studio. He currently runs a David Valner Studio focused on glass design. David's glass objects are part of the Rossana Orlandi Gallery collection, The Future Perfect in San Francisco and others
