Folk Architecture Days 2025 – A Look Back

On July 19–20, 2025, the Days of Folk Architecture took place in Železný Brod, at the Běliště ethnographic exhibition site. The program included not only demonstrations of traditional crafts, but also fun games, creative workshops for both children and adults, and guided tours of the exhibition itself. Sunny weather contributed to the pleasant atmosphere, and visitors could also enjoy refreshments in the Běliště garden.

On Saturday, July 19, Vlastimila Konrádová presented the history of wool processing, and visitors had the opportunity to try dry needle felting. Věra Poláková showcased the beauty of handmade bobbin lace. With Jiří Šebesta, children and adults immersed themselves in the magical world of intuitive games made from wood, metal, stone, or cotton.

Sunday, July 20, was dedicated to “pimprlení”. With Lenka Hřibová, children created their own original puppets. The nearby Mini-Museum of Glass Nativity Scenes was also open to visitors.

The weekend culminated in the traditional street art, music, and theater festival Trávnický futrál, held in the picturesque setting of wooden cottages in the Trávníky heritage zone.
The musical lineup featured a variety of styles: Matěj Čejchan (Tcheichan) captivated the audience with his engaging pop-rock performance, and the group Planetris delighted listeners with covers of well-known rock and folk ballads.

The festival concluded with original song and flute improvisations by Jan F. Medvin.
