Easter Fair at Běliště – A Look Back
The traditional Easter market at Běliště took place this year from Friday, March 27 to Sunday, March 29, open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The charming setting of the timbered house came alive with a wide range of handcrafted goods by regional vendors, Easter-themed products, and demonstrations of traditional crafts. Visitors also had the opportunity to support the Association of Disabled People of the Železný Brod region and admire the work of students from the local glassmaking school.
The program offered something for all generations. Children could enjoy creative workshops organized by the Mozaika Leisure Centre, the Andílek Family Centre, and Lenka Hřibová’s workshop “No Egg Is Like Another,” while fairy tale performances added to the festive atmosphere. On Friday, Lenka Hřibová presented the short play How Roosters Colored the World, and on Sunday afternoon, audiences enjoyed a puppet parody inspired by the famous Star Wars saga titled Galactic Rift, or How the Empire Didn’t Strike Back, performed by Ruda Hancvencl.
The Saturday program also featured a performance by a wind quintet from the Elementary Art School in Železný Brod, led by teacher Ruda Müller. Each day included live demonstrations of traditional crafts, from lace bobbin-making and patchwork to the braiding of Easter whips.
Once again, the Easter market provided a welcoming space for community gatherings, the discovery of regional crafts, and cultural experiences for visitors of all ages.
