A Look Back at the Summer Glass Workshop 2025
On June 10-11, 2025, the 14th annual glass symposium, Summer Glass Workshop, took place in Železný Brod, in the premises of the SUPŠS Železný Brod and the Detesk company. This traditional event supporting the glassmaking craft and contemporary creative approaches to glass was once again open to the general public, who could watch the creation of unique works directly in the school’s glass studio, created by experienced artists, glass masters and students.
During the first day of the symposium - June 10 - Jaroslav Bukovský and Jana Válková-Střílková presented their work in the school’s glass studio. Jana Válková-Střílková, in collaboration with glass master Kamil Skrbek, Barbora Tydlitátová and Michal Jaroš, created a blown glass object. Jaroslav Bukovský, together with glass master Lukáš Šulc, Michal Jaroš and Romana Molitóriszová, created a sculpture of flower motifs by casting glass into a sibral mold.
On the second day of the symposium – June 11 – Pavel Kopřiva and Renata Šikolová created their works in the school’s glass studio. Pavel Kopřiva, in collaboration with Lukáš Šulc and Jaroslav Bukovský, made objects from densely shaped pieces. Renata Šikolová, in collaboration with Kamil Skrbek, Barbora Tydlitátová and Michal Jaroš, created a series of glass objects with motorbike motifs using the Graal technique.
Eva Vlčková implements her designs at the glass company Detesk.
The created works will be exhibited as part of the Glass Town Feast, the 19th year of which will take place in Železný Brod on September 20–21. A catalogue will also be published for the symposium, which will be available at the museum shop.
